Making Memories this Christmas
~ Line up a few different Hot chocolates or toppings and have everyone vote for their favorite. Simple, cozy, and kid-approved (grown-ups too!).Then have a
Living Room Picnic by the Tree
~Spread a blanket on the floor, turn off the bright lights, and have dinner by the glow of the tree. It makes an ordinary meal feel like a little holiday event.

Christmas Movie Bingo
Make simple bingo cards with things you always see in holiday movies-snow, Santa hats, hot cocoa, decorating the tree. First one to get bingo picks the next movie or dessert.
~Wrap & Chat Night
Turn gift wrapping into a relaxed "wrap party" with music, snacks, and conversation. You'll get your to-do list done and still feel like you had a night together.
~ Gratitude Garland I really wish I had thought of this when my children were young. Have everyone write something they're thankful for or a favorite memory from this year on strips of paper, then link them into a garland. Be sure to date each one and tuck it away after the holidays-next year you can add new memories and watch it grow into a treasured family tradition.
"Lights Out, Stories On" Evening
Turn off most of the lights, leave the tree or twinkle lights on, and take turns sharing favorite Christmas memories or funny stories. It's simple, but it's usually the night everyone remembers.

I did this with my Children They had a musical mobile above the crib. I turned the animals into Christmas Decorations all they needed was a hook and a red ribbon. A most treasured ornament. Here is a picture of them
~For my Grandchildren I kept one of their little booties I wrote their name on the sole and put their picture inside.

~ Worth Repeating ~ Christmas Lights Neighborhood Walk or Drive ~
Pick one evening for a "lights walk." Make hot cocoa in travel mugs, bundle up, and stroll or drive slowly through a favorite neighborhood to see the decorations. It's simple, free, and often becomes a favorite tradition. The tractor is near Pedro's Farm
~ Family "Memory Ornament" Night
Have each person in the family write one favorite memory from the past year on a small tag or paper ornament and hang it on the tree. It's a sweet way to pause and remember the good moments before the rush of the holiday.
