1. Cherry & Webb Beach
Also known as Westport Town Beach, Cherry & Webb Beach offers a sandy shoreline with opportunities for swimming, surfing, shelling and enjoying the ocean.
A current Westport beach permit is generally required for parking. Town beach permits are available to eligible Westport residents and property owners.
2. East Beach
East Beach is known for its shoreline views, natural setting and beautiful sunsets. The surf can be rough, and lifeguards may not be available.
Westport beach permit parking rules apply. East Beach is also close to the coastal trails at Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary.
3. Gooseberry Island
Gooseberry Island is a 73-acre coastal destination connected to the mainland by a causeway. It offers panoramic views of Buzzards Bay and is popular for walking, fishing, kayaking and birdwatching.
Visitors may also see deer, seals, migratory birds and historic World War II observation towers. Parking is generally available without a Westport town beach sticker, but posted signs and seasonal regulations should always be followed.
4. Knubble Beach
Knubble Beach, sometimes called Knubble Rock Beach, overlooks Westport Harbor and Buzzards Bay. It is a quiet spot with a rocky shoreline and beautiful harbor views.
A current Westport beach permit is generally required for parking.
5. Horseneck Beach State Reservation
Horseneck Beach is a Massachusetts state beach with approximately two miles of shoreline. Visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, birdwatching, windsurfing and walking beside the ocean.
Facilities and lifeguard coverage are seasonal. Parking fees vary, and Massachusetts residents age 62 or older may qualify for a discounted lifetime DCR Senior Parking Pass.
